365 in 2014

Finally finished making this infinity scarf that I knitted after watching
this video that said I could knit it with my arms in 30 minutes.
It took me four tries and several months to finish - but I did it!

Loving my slow cooker! All these delicious ingredients turned magically
overnight into sausage, lentil and butternut squash goodness

Went to see this cool local band, Weapons You've Never Heard Of.
Ok so my boyfriend is one of these dudes, so I'm a little bias, but check them out.
I really like the blurry, animatedness of this photo.

It was my mama's birthday, so I turned a banana spice loaf recipe into
some birthday cupcakes for her. I made lemon icing to go with them and this
 photo would've been way better with them iced, but they were still warm and
I had to rush to a film festival movie, so mum had to ice them herself

Went to Six Barrel Soda Co - for the first time, surprisingly. I just love
the stripy straws and their teeny tiny cafe is so cute

I finally got around to spending the rest of my insurance payout after my
house was robbed last year and they took a bunch of jewellery.
I had this made to replace an E necklace my Nanny from the UK gave me.
It's nothing like the previous one, but it's something I will wear and think of her

First time trying acupuncture!

I put an offer on a house....and the vendor went with another offer.
Pretty disappointing but these pretty flowers cheered me up some

Wednesday was cold and wet and I pretty much got into bed after work, and
stayed there. This poster above my bed is one I got from a Mr Brainwash
exhibition in London

Some BMD artwork around town. There's heaps of their stuff all over
Wellington. It's pretty neat

A beach walk turned into hiding from the wind and cold at Maranui Cafe
in Lyall Bay. I didn't mind one bit!

The weekend papers are now interspersed with
open home stuff - things are changing

Had a day of training for work at Maranui Surf Club.
It was really pretty and calm at 8am

Drinks at a Newtown local, Bebemos (still not totally sure how to pronounce it).
Good tapas and a sweet outside set up, even when it's cold

I was a wee bit hungover. And this is pretty much
 the face I made when my bacon sandwich arrived at the table.
Oooooooh!

vegetarian meal after class!

Aaaaand the next day I got one of the best burgers
in town. Moderation and all that

This friend is called Toby. He let me pat him heaps when I visited his house

My flatmate painted these terracotta pots with blackboard paint and wrote
the names of the herbs she planted - such a neat idea

We've had a run of really nice winter days lately

Had a really nice dinner at a new Spanish place called Basque.
San Sebastian was one of my favourite places in Europe, mainly because
of the pintxos

an excellent hang over cure

Celebrating one year since a first date with this dude I kinda
like - with a date night at Chow. We waited ages for a table
and then pretty much ordered the entire menu

Made a really yummy Autumn soup from a recipe I cut out of a magazine
a really long time ago. It was so nice and warming, especially with
parmesan cheese on top

Street art down Opera House lane. Cool to see that some Matariki art
is being added at the moment

Bought a flash new camera! Pretty excited about being able to take some
better quality photos. I'll still use both this one and my old one, mainly
because it's not practical to carry this one with me everywhere, but excited
to experiment - once I know how to use it properly, that is!

Went to a pretty choice pop-up bar, Brooklyn, with a hip hop theme, on a
Friday night. My drink of choice was a Kool Aid cocktail

A cold, wet Wellington night. And an appropriate
Game of Thrones/beer reference

Morning coffee at Flight. I think this is a coffee
syphon, but I can't be sure. So fancy.

I often have fantasies about working in a book store.
So quiet and warm. So many books.

Pretty excited that Mojo have introduced a smaller takeaway
cup - now my takeaway flat white will actually be a flat white
and not overly milky. Although it isn't any cheaper...

Ok so I thought at the time that this would be an arty shot. But it's
just peanut shells on the floor of a bar after I had a few too many drinks

This however definitely helped after said few too many - the mushroom
pizza is the bomb
