Beautiful skies from our resort in Fiji

We learnt how to make kokoda. I ate quite a lot of this while I was there.
So fresh and delicious

We spent a large amount of time right here.
We also did a lot of eating and drinking from coconuts

Day trip to South Sea Island. Just to loaf around in a different setting, you know.
Some amazing snorkelling here

Since I couldn't take the shells I collected home, this is my souvenir

I came back to Wellington just in time to help out at A Vinyl Affair.
A really great day for vinyl and music lovers to have a rummage through the crates.

A New Orleans jazz themed brunch at Logan Brown for
Wellington on a Plate - my favourite of all Wellington festivals.
This is eggs krawkitty

Because every woman should have a Jane Fonda exercise record. Duh

Delicious Mediterranean chicken thing I made in my good friend, the slow cooker

Even this guy is looking forward to the end of winter

These buskers were choice and brought a little sunshine into my lunch break
on a chilly day. They are called Black Spider Stomp

Weather humour in the paper. Sometimes you just gotta laugh at Wellington's
crazy weather

My very first 2014 Wellington on a Plate burger. It was a 6/10.
I hope to get in at least two more during the second week

Aaaand then I was in Fiji! And there were cocktails!

An amazingly delicious breakfast of dukkah eggs with chorizo and rocket
at Federal & Wolfe in Auckland

And then the sickness came....but I did my best to ward it off

A beautiful sunrise from my garden

Sick day morning.
I made myself a yummy omelette with spinach, feta and chutney

A city tui! This guy was spotted a few minutes away from my office,
just hanging out, singing his song

Pretty lunch at The Larder in Miramar

The only half decent picture I could get of the super moon.
I wasn't committed enough to get up early to see it rise, unfortunately

So guess what....I missed posting a whole week of photos from the end of July! I've just added this post in about 6 months later when I was going through them again and realised. Whoops. They're old but they're still good - I promise.

At the Paramount Cinema to watch a Kiwi film festival movie
Everything We Loved. Bit creepy, and not the greatest acting, but I enjoyed it.
Here's the trailer

One thing I really missed out living overseas was good, cheap
sushi - there's so much of it in Wellington!

Everyone loves bubbles!

Picked up these bowls from a restaurant that was closing down and selling everything.
Still a bit bummed I missed out on the ceramic green cow, which sold before
I could get back to buy it

Dinner at Siem Reap, a yummy Asian restaurant. Don't tell anyone but I
once did a dine and dash from here many years ago. I still feel bad about it

Paid a visit to The Fed in Auckland when I was there for the weekend.
This toasted Reuben sandwich was $22 but it was worth it.
The poutine was also awesome

I spent the day over on Waiheke Island. It was a rainy day so I did a little
tiki tour on a bus and then visited a couple of vineyards. It was pretty great

Finally finished making this infinity scarf that I knitted after watching
this video that said I could knit it with my arms in 30 minutes.
It took me four tries and several months to finish - but I did it!

Loving my slow cooker! All these delicious ingredients turned magically
overnight into sausage, lentil and butternut squash goodness

A very delicious Otago pinot noir for a wintry Wednesday night

Went to see this cool local band, Weapons You've Never Heard Of.
Ok so my boyfriend is one of these dudes, so I'm a little bias, but check them out.
I really like the blurry, animatedness of this photo.

It was my mama's birthday, so I turned a banana spice loaf recipe into
some birthday cupcakes for her. I made lemon icing to go with them and this
photo would've been way better with them iced, but they were still warm and
I had to rush to a film festival movie, so mum had to ice them herself

Went to Six Barrel Soda Co - for the first time, surprisingly. I just love
the stripy straws and their teeny tiny cafe is so cute

I finally got around to spending the rest of my insurance payout after my
house was robbed last year and they took a bunch of jewellery.
I had this made to replace an E necklace my Nanny from the UK gave me.
It's nothing like the previous one, but it's something I will wear and think of her
